WHOIS Lookup
Get detailed domain registration information including registrar, dates, and nameservers
What is WHOIS?
WHOIS is a query and response protocol used to query databases that store information about registered domain names, IP addresses, and autonomous systems. It provides public information about who owns or manages a domain.
WHOIS records typically include the registrar, registration dates, expiration date, name servers, and sometimes contact information (if WHOIS privacy is not enabled).
Information You Can Find:
- Registrar: The company where the domain was registered
- Registration Date: When the domain was first registered
- Expiration Date: When the domain registration expires
- Name Servers: DNS servers handling the domain
- Status: Current state of the domain (active, locked, etc.)
- Contact Info: If WHOIS privacy is not enabled
Common Use Cases:
- Check if a domain is available for registration
- Find out when a domain expires
- Identify the domain owner or registrar
- Verify DNS server configuration
- Research domain history and age
